Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay

Turning a Dream Home Into Big Dreams

Craig Meyers Dream HomeCraig Meyer became a Big Brother in 1988 and has always cherished his friendship with his Little Brother. While assisting his “Little” with the daunting task of finding a prep school scholarship in the early 1990’s, Craig recognized an opportunity for Big Brothers/Big Sisters to assist “Bigs” with the advanced educational needs of their Littles. Years later, Craig saw building a designer show home as an opportunity to help the organization in a way other than being a Big. When Craig learned that Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay had independently created an Educational Advocacy and Scholarship Program to assist Littles to achieve their educational goals, he realized the time was right to use his business success to support this new program.

Dream HomeDream Home 2002 was the culmination of that vision. The month long event offered tours of an 8,500 square foot estate home as part of an ambitious fundraising effort. Each room of the residence was decorated and merchandised by some of the finest interior designers and artists in New England.

During the Open House in the Fall of 2002, more than 2,000 visitors toured this one-of-a-kind home. The event resulted in a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay of more than $65,000, part of which went to the Educational Advocacy and Scholarship Program.
